3/17, 18, 19: 71st Annual Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival | Downtown Fairhope | 10am - 5 pm each day
The annual Arts & Crafts Festival is a huge hit with both locals and visitors alike. It was recently named one of the top 15 art shows in the nation by the prestigious Sunshine Artist Magazine. Visitors come from far and wide to experience this free 3-day event with over 200 fine arts and crafts exhibitors from all over the United States. We also love the festival food trucks, children's activities, music and local entertainment and we usually take a few Jubilee Suites guests with us to experience the show. This year's featured artist is Ricky Trione, a blind artist who paints from his heart. See one of his original paintings in our bed and breakfast when you come to visit. 3/17, 18, 19: 51st Annual Outdoor Art Show | Eastern Shore Art Center | 10am - 5pm each day
Coinciding with the Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival, our Eastern Shore Art Center at 401 Oak Street holds an annual art show outdoors featuring artist booths, live demos, food trucks and more. Inside the Art Center are more permanent and special exhibits, including a collection of Southern Folk Art donated by folk art collector Gail Ellerbrake. This special collection is on display
January 6 until March 31. The exhibit also includes notable pieces from the Nall Collection of Alabama Art.
3/18: 45th Annual Spring Fever Chase | Downtown Fairhope | 8am
This 10K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk winds through beautiful downtown Fairhope overlooking Mobile Bay. Register in one of 4 categories- 10K Age Grouper, 10K Walkers, 10K Wheelchair Division, and 2 mile Fun Run. Hosted by Thomas Hospital and Wells Fargo Bank, this annual event benefits our Baldwin County Schools. Early registration for all four races is happening now until 2/27 at the Race Roster website. After 2/27, the registration price goes up slightly.
3/25: Elberta German Sausage Festival | Elberta Town Park | 8am - 5pm
Take a leisurely drive into the countryside on 98 E for about 25 miles and you'll arrive at Elberta Town Park at 13052 Main Street in Elberta, AL. This family-friendly festival is famous for German sausage & sauerkraut, continuous musical entertainment for adults and children, a beer tent, and more than 200 arts & crafts booths.
It is held twice a year, always on the last Saturday on March and again in October and all proceeds benefit the Elberta Volunteer
Fire Department. This event does not allow pets other than service animals as defined by the Americans With Disabilities Act. For more information check out their Facebook page. This festival was voted the Community Event winner for 2023 in the Gulf Coast Media Best of Baldwin (County) competition. Every Friday and Saturday except 3/17-18: Fairhope Foodie Tour | Tickets Required | 2pm - 5 pm each day
This is the only tour of its kind in Fairhope, AL. Try the foods Fairhopians love most at our best restaurants. Add on the cocktail package for three delicious cocktails served by the restaurants. Have fun getting to know other locals and guests to our city. Walk just over a mile in downtown Fairhope and visit 5 restaurants in 3 hours at a leisurely pace good for most fitness levels. Anytime: Charter Sailboat Cruise in Mobile Bay | Sailtime Charters | Reservation Required
Fairhope is a waterfront town directly on Mobile Bay and your visit won't be complete without some waterfront adventures. Choose your sailboat, your destination and your sailing partners and embark on a beautiful tour on Mobile Bay. You'll be on a private charter yacht with up to 6 guests. 3/2: Free Lecture Series on Fairhope History | Fairhope Public Library | 5:45pm - 7:45pm
In this series of 4 lectures on Fairhope history, the Fairhope Library at 501 Fairhope Avenue has recruited some really interesting speakers to discuss the unique aspects of Fairhope, AL. This is the 3rd event with local historian, Allen Todd, to discuss "Day Trips from Fairhope : Quirky Discoveries of a Historian". 3/3: First Friday Artwalk | Eastern Shore Art Center | 6pm - 8pm
Always a fun and free evening, visitors and locals alike love this monthly street party that starts at the Eastern Shore Art Center at 6pm. Each month a different sponsor provides music,
refreshments, and a chance to say hello to new and old friends while surrounded by fascinating exhibits that change regularly.
Start with dinner at one of our local restaurants, then visit the Eastern Shore Art Center. After you've enjoyed the exhibits, walk down Section Street and find yourself serenaded by pop-up local musicians on street corners, in restaurants and bars, and even local retailers who stay open late this night each month. 3/11: 15th Annual BBQ & Blues Cook-Off | Heritage Park in Foley, AL | 11am - 5pm
Festival-goers enjoy great food, popular blues bands, children’s activities, and arts and crafts vendors at this one-day annual outdoor event held on the second Saturday of March at 125 E. Laurel Avenue in Foley, AL. Sanctioned by both the Alabama Barbecue Association Trail and Kansas City Barbeque Society, individual and corporate teams compete in several barbecue cook-off award categories. This festival started in 2009 as the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation's biggest fundraiser. All proceeds support the Foundation which uses the funds to support the community and our schools. Mobile Ballet's 35th anniversary season culminates with Swan
Lake, "one of ballet’s greatest love stories filled with dynamic storytelling and sublime dance. International guest artists and the Mobile Ballet Company dance to Tchaikovsky’s glorious score brought to life under the direction of conductor David Ott. Be captivated by the romance, drama, and battle between good and evil in one of the most iconic ballets of all time. With choreography by Katia Garza and Israel Rodriguez after Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, come and witness how this new version of Swan Lake takes flight.
