There's something about Fairhope, AL that makes people think of romance. And Fairhope is full of romantic experiences just waiting to be discovered. At Jubilee Suites, we often host couples who come to Fairhope for a romantic getaway in our luxury B&B on Mobile Bay. We love to help them plan experiences they'll remember. Whether your idea of romance is heading out on an active adventure, or perhaps something a bit more relaxing, here are a few of our favorite ideas for the couple on a weekend getaway looking for romance.

Fairhope Public Art Trail
One of our hidden treasures in Fairhope is our public art. Combine a walk around town with a scavenger hunt using this Fairhope Public Art Trail guide. When you've discovered all 17 works, you'll find yourself at the Eastern Shore Art Center at Oak and Section Street. Take some time to check out the Art Center with its ever-changing exhibits and a gift shop where you'll find the perfect souvenir. Then walk back towards town a block or two to dine at Tamara's Downtown or Plane and Level Coastal, both on Section Street, for a real treat. We love both of these restaurants for their delicious food in romantic settings.
Double Kayak Adventure
If you're in more of a "let's-play-at-home" mood, we have just the thing for you. At Jubilee Suites we offer our guests free use of our kayaks complete with life vests. Mobile Bay is shallow and kayaking is easy, even for beginners, especially if you team up in one of our double kayaks. Enjoy your paddle and expect to see other coastal homes and their unique piers, spot unusual shore birds, perhaps see an alligator or two, fish jumping, and on occasion, even dolphins or a manatee. Sunrise or sunset are our favorite times on the Bay when the clear view across the water is usually spectacular. Follow up with a chef-prepared dinner or a couples massage in your suite. Call us when you've booked your suite and we'll set it up for you.
Nature Walk at Weeks Bay Reserve
Weeks Bay Reserve is one of our favorite spots for a nature walk and nothing could be more romantic than getting out into the woods with your sweetheart. Weeks Bay Reserve is a unique education and conservation center in a coastal estuarine habitat where salt water from the Gulf of Mexico and fresh river water from the Fish and Magnolia Rivers come together. The Reserve protects over 9000 acres of land, over 300 species of birds, many endangered species, and numerous trees and plants found only in this type of habitat. Enjoy nature trails, boardwalk trails that are wheelchair accessible, and a visitor center with exhibits of plants and animals you might see in the Reserve. See more details in this informative review. For an added adventure, rent bikes at The Fairhope Store on De La Mare and cycle 13 miles along Mobile Bay on Scenic Hwy 98 and US-98 E. Stop on the way back at Mullet Point Park for a picnic you've picked up on your way out of town at Rae's Kitchen. Or let us arrange for a romantic and luxurious picnic on our Jubilee Suites lawn provided by Southern Charm Picnic Company. You deserve it!
Sightseeing Cruise on Mobile Bay
Waterfront living is one of the reasons we love Fairhope, AL and living at Jubilee Suites with waterfront views from almost every room makes us want to share it all with our guests. One of the most romantic activities we recommend is a sunset sailing cruise on Mobile Bay with Sailtime.com. When you arrive at the Fairhope Docks, you’ll board a sleek and impeccably maintained 40′ Yacht, a 2022 Beneteau Oceanis luxury sailboat. This will be your private charter with up to 6 guests, but no one else will be booked with you unless you want to bring them. Another option is a sightseeing cruise for two aboard the Tootsie, an electric-powered 22' Bay Island Duffy Boat furnished by Eastern Shore Charter. Both of these sightseeing tours are perfectly quiet so you can sit back and enjoy the sounds of the water and the birds. Follow your sailing cruise with a fine-dining experience at The Hope Farm, Pearl, Sean's Prime Dining, or The Fairhope Inn. They're all delightfully romantic!
Art Gallery and Antiques Tour of Fairhope
Founded by an eclectic group of utopia-seekers in the late 1800s, Fairhope has always attracted an outsize share of creatives such as artists, musicians, and writers, and the result is a town full of activities around art, music, and writing! Take an afternoon to explore Fairhope and many of its hidden treasures. Start with lunch at the Dragonfly Foodbar or Bay Breeze Cafe and then let your feet guide you around downtown Fairhope. We enjoy strolling in and out of the many art and antique galleries, enjoying the local music scene along the way, and visiting our thriving art museum, The Eastern Shore Art Center. We think you will too! Don't miss Aubergine with its gorgeous culinary antiques and oriental rugs. Be sure to pick up a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers at Provision, and when you're finally ready to sit down, spread a blanket at The Fairhope Pier to enjoy a romantic sunset over Mobile Bay with your beloved.
