Live at 5 in Fairhope, AL

Live at Five: 5pm-8pm at Halstead Auditorium- See the Fall Lineup Below
Since 2017, we've enjoyed a seasonal live concert series at the beautiful outdoor Halstead Amphitheater, part of Coastal AL Community College, in downtown Fairhope.  The fall season kicked off on September 15  and runs through October 27. Concert-goers bring their own chairs, blankets, and picnics to sit (or dance) on the 65,000 square-foot grassy lawn in front of the stage. Each concert begins at 5 pm with 2 opening acts. Hound Dog Music Fest 2023Hound Dog Music Fest: October 7, 4pm-8pm at Hidden Lake in Silverhill, AL
The Hound Dog Music Fest is the "best dog-gone event of the year " and all proceeds go to support the Baldwin Humane Society, a non-profit, no-kill animal welfare agency in Fairhope. If you're looking for a family-friendly, outdoor, live local music event, this is it! Always a good time for a good cause. This year's lineup includes Rollin' in the Hay, White Lang, Wes Loper Band, and The Ayers Brothers. Tickets are available at their website. 

Baldwin Pops 

Founder's Day Concert: October 8, 5pm-6:30 pm, at Henry George Park
Baldwin Pops will perform a free sunset concert in Henry George Park on the bluff overlooking the Fairhope Pier and Mobile Bay. This concert celebrates the heritage of Fairhope and is sponsored by The Fairhope Single Tax Corporation, whose original members were the founders of the City of Fairhope in 1894. Be sure to bring friends, chairs, blankets, and your best picnic setup for a chance to win the "best picnic" award. The Fairhope Single Tax Corporation has sponsored the Founders Day concert since 1997 and this is one fall event the locals never miss. Family-friendly! And for a better appreciation of Fairhope's unique story, visit the Fairhope Museum of History.

Theater Events in Fairhope, AL in the Fall

Theatre 98 in Fairhope, AL 

For Peter Pan on Her 70th Birthday: October 6-22, at Theatre 98
This final play of the 2023 season is by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Heather Delker. It runs for 10 performances at this wonderfully intimate, three-quarter round community theater. Theatre 98 opened in 1984 in a historic building that originally housed The First Baptist Church of Fairhope in the 1920s. Seating about 100 patrons, there is not a bad seat in the house. A local favorite, tickets go fast, so get them early. Because of adult content, subject matter & language, this production is not recommended for children under the age of 14. Eastern Shore Repertory Theatre 

Shrek The Musical Jr.: November 3-5 at the Fairhope Civic Center 
Founded in 2012, the Eastern Shore Repertory Theatre's mission is to educate and train local students and present professional-quality theater experiences in our community. In addition to the professional training of area youth, both spring and fall productions are highly anticipated by the local community. This family-friendly fall musical is full of joy and laughter and features a cast of 70-80 area students aged from 3rd-12th grade. Tickets are on sale now.

Children's Dance Theater of Fairhope, ALA Fairhope Nutcracker: November 18, 2-4:30pm at the Fairhope Civic Center
Performed by The Children's Dance Theater of Fairhope which has been bringing children's literature to life for over 40 years. Watch their Facebook page for ticket information, coming soon.

Fairhope Film Festival 

Fairhope Film Festival: Nov 9-12 at 6 Theaters in Fairhope, AL 
This nationally-acclaimed film-lovers event in Fairhope, AL is held for 4 days each 2nd weekend in November. It began 11 years ago with a few dedicated volunteers and is now an exceptional experience with over 20 shorts and 40 films in 6 theaters over the space of 4 days. These films have been curated from other film festivals and most have never been seen locally. The festival features films, panels, parties, and lots of other events that make it a draw for film buffs and industry professionals from all over the country. Art in the Fall in Fairhope, AL

ESAC Plein Air Festival in Fairhope, AL 

5th Annual Plein Air Festival: October 30 - November 4 all around Fairhope
60 artists have signed up with the Eastern Shore Art Center to paint the town of Fairhope from sunrise on October 30 until sunset on November 4 in the ESAC's 5th Plein Air Festival. This week-long event attracts artists from all over the region who sign up for a coveted spot in the festival and then paint outdoors (plein air) all week. The finished art is exhibited at the Eastern Shore Art Center and most of it will be for sale beginning at 6pm during the First Friday Artwalk on November 4 and on through December 30, 2023. Jubilee Festival of Art35th Annual Jubilee Festival of Art: October 21-22, 10am-5pm in Lott Park in Daphne, AL
This family-friendly festival is just up the road a few miles in the beautiful town of Daphne, AL, which is also set on the shores of Mobile Bay. Each year this annual festival, hosted by the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, sets up in Olde Town Daphne with more than 130 local and regional artists, music from local musicians, local food vendors, an entertainment stage, an exhibit by high school students, and a place for kids to make their own art. Wander the festival with your family, rain or shine, and pick up some regional art to take home. For more information, see their website. 

Eastern Shore Art CenterFirst Friday ArtWalk: Fall dates are September 1, October 6, and November 3 beginning at 6pm at The Eastern Shore Art Center
This free year-round monthly event is a local favorite. Many people begin the evening at the Eastern Shore Art Center to take in the latest exhibits, mingle with old and new friends, sip some wine, and snack on the delicious bites provided by the monthly sponsor. Later, they walk down to Fairhope Avenue and De La Mare Avenue, both closed to accommodate local vendors and musicians sponsored by some of the retailers. Many stores stay open late to exhibit local art and provide snacks and music of their own. It's small-town living at its best! If you're in town, this monthly event is not to be missed!

Fun with Food in the Fall in Fairhope, AL

Gulf Shores Shrimp Festival50th Annual National Shrimp Festival: October 12-15, Thursday through Saturday 10-10, Sunday 10-5 in Gulf Shores
About 45 minutes south of Fairhope lies the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico. If you're coming to Fairhope and plan to visit the beach, you might want to take in this festival while you're there. Be sure to use the shuttle service to simplify parking. Enjoy shrimp, art, music, and shopping with your family right next to the sparkling waters of the Gulf. Gulf Coast Fungi FestivalGulf Coast Fungi Festival: October 20-22 at Weeks Bay Plantation and Fungi Farm
A unique event with something for everyone who loves mushrooms, including guided mushroom foraging tours, lectures and cooking demos from experts, workshops, art, and local live music. Kiwanis Gumbo Contest

12th Annual Best of the Bay Eastern Shore Kiwanis Gumbo Championship: November 4, 11am-2:30pm at Halstead Auditorium at Coastal AL Community College
This family-friendly event includes all the gumbo tasting you can handle, voting for your favorite, music by The Marlow Boys, crafts, and a kid's fun area with a slide, bounce house, and face painting. This event follows the Fairhope Veteran's Day Parade so you can easily walk from the parade to this event for some lunch and playtime. Tickets are $10 in advance on Eventbrite or $15 at the gate and kids under 12 get in free.

In addition to popular farm-to-table fine dining in a unique urban farm environment, The Hope Farm offers family-style Sunday Suppers monthly, each with a different theme. The Fairhope Foodie Walking Tour: Every Friday and Saturday at 2pm 
Take a guided walking journey totaling about a mile to 6 venues in downtown Fairhope. This Taste of Fairhope tour stretches out to over 3 hours with local cuisine, stories, and history of the restaurants and Fairhope along the way. This is a fun way to get to know more about Fairhope culture while meeting locals and tourists alike. There is also an optional cocktail package to add to this tour. Birding Events in the Fall in Fairhope, AL

AL Coastal BirdFestAlabama Coastal Birdfest: October 4-7, times vary by event
This premier birding festival held in South AL every year is timed to coincide with the Gulf Coast fall migration. Birders and nature lovers from across the United States and Canada experience one of the prime birdwatching opportunities on the Gulf Coast. Attendees enjoy boat and walking trips to some of the best birding spots in the area, including locations along the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail. Registration ends on September 22, so hurry! Fairhope Outdoor Farmers Market: Thursdays from September 21 - November 9, 2-5pm behind the Fairhope Public Library.
Fresh vegetables, seafood, beef, eggs, plus entertainment and kids activities. You never know what (or who!) you'll see there.

Fall Makers Market: Every other Sunday (9/17, 10/1, 10/15, 10/29, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3, 12/17) 11am-4pm at the Fairhope Pier. Artisan booths, food, plants, and people-watching at the Bay.

National Estuary Week: September 20, 9-11am and September 23, 8-10am at Weeks Bay Resource Center by the boat launch.

Fairhope 2023 Witches Ride and Ball: October 26 at 6pm beginning at Halstead Amphitheater.
Costumed witches ride bikes around town to benefit the Baldwin Humane Society. A Witches Ball follows at The Halstead Amphitheater with music by the Tip Tops. Get your tickets here.

Downtown Fairhope Trick or Treat: October 28 from 10am-noon in Downtown Fairhope.
Sponsored by the City of Fairhope and the Downtown Fairhope Business Association, kids trick or treat in costume wherever they see an orange pumpkin displayed. Bring a camera and take pictures at the Halloween display at the Fairhope Welcome Center.

Veteran's Day Parade: Saturday, November 4, beginning at 10 am at the Fairhope Civic Center.
Join us as we salute and honor our veterans including the Veteran of the Year, who will lead the parade. The parade begins and ends at the Fairhope Civic Center.
