Many of our guests come to Jubilee Suites and ask us if we can honor their particular diet or food allergies, and our answer is always, "Yes! Give us some suggestions and we'll do our very best for you." When we had several requests for more keto-friendly breakfast options, Jim discovered this chaffle recipe and it's so good, we've added it to our regular breakfast rotation.
What is a chaffle? It is a waffle-like breakfast item that contains eggs and cheese and is prepared in a waffle maker. There are many variations for chaffles online, and some are more eggy than others, but this one is healthy, delicious, and uses a bit of almond flour and baking soda to more closely resemble a traditional waffle.
Chaffles are also super-versatile. They freeze and reheat well, they can be used in place of hamburger buns or bread, and they can even be used as the base for a pizza. They're delicious right off the waffle maker, but they can also be topped with a huge variety of mix-ins or toppings, both savory and sweet. We serve them with some or all of the following: jam, honey, powdered sugar, chocolate chips, butter, more cheese, sandwich meat, etc. Let your imagination be your guide.
Mix up a batch of chaffles and keep them in your freezer for quick snacks or meals on the go. Even kids love them!
